Gaia, the earth
It represents the material and grounded: soil, substance and the rules that hold things in place. For a firm working with law, evidence and responsibility, earth is the right starting point.
The story behind the mark
Gaia is the ancient Greek name for our planet. The name and mark express one idea: a vessel made of earth that holds and channels spirit, or consciousness.
I drew this mark by hand for GAIA25 instead of commissioning a logo. Here is what it means and why it sits at the centre of the company.

The number 25, redrawn as a symbol: the first inspiration and the final design.
It represents the material and grounded: soil, substance and the rules that hold things in place. For a firm working with law, evidence and responsibility, earth is the right starting point.
Drawn together, with the 2 as a mirrored 5, the digits suggest a hydria, the ancient Greek water vessel. Clay is the earth; its contents are the spirit. A vessel that holds and channels something fluid and alive also symbolises a person.
The mark draws on Aristotle's distinction between contemplation, creation and action: theoria, poiesis, praxis. Our path follows that idea: evidence-grounded thought, then building, then action within a governed boundary. GAIA25 is the praxis, where a grounded idea becomes governed action.
A vessel proves its worth by channelling its contents without spilling them. That is our work. Frontier AI is fluid and fast; we channel its power within a grounded, governed boundary. The silhouette also suggests scales, fitting for compliance work. The mark is hand-drawn because the point is to keep a human at the centre of the machine.
Earth that holds spirit. A vessel that channels power without spilling it. That is the idea we build around.
